Republicans and Former Republicans protecting America against Donald Trump

The Choice after Biden

July 22, 2024

Now that Biden has stepped down as a candidate, what will you do now?

Earlier today, Joe Biden decided that he would step aside from the 2024 Presidential campaign and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate over Donald Trump. Regardless of what you, as individual Republicans, think about Joe Biden you have to admit that it's a difficult decision to step down as President. That decision becomes more apparent when considering the violent threat that Donald Trump poses to our country.

The choice now is what will you do during this 2024 election campaign? Many of you stood as principled Republicans with Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Asa Hutchinson in opposition to Donald Trump during the primary elections. Will you continue to oppose Donald Trump as Kamala Harris is confirmed as the Democratic nominee for President?

Is Trump's MAGA Republican faction really a true representation of the Republican Party? Does it really represent you and your family's beliefs and values?

The list of our true Republican leaders who oppose Donald Trump is substantial. None of the Republican Presidents - nor many of Trump's cabinet secretaries - were present in the Republican Convention in Milwaukee, nor have they supported him. Instead, experienced civil servants like Chris Christie, Asa Hutchinson, and Nikki Haley who opposed Trump, but lack the apparatus to continue this opposition with MAGA in charge of the RNC.

The Continued Threat of Donald Trump

democracy posed by Donald Trump and his MAGA Extremists are still very real. A second Donald Trump presidency - now with near blanket immunity with the US Supreme Court - is an existential challenge to the American freedom that our founders intended when they created this country.

  • We cannot have a President who would try to incite a violent insurrection for own his personal benefit
  • We cannot have a President with Donald Trump's criminal behavior. Trump has already been convicted 34 times from one trial, but he still has additional criminal trials for his behavior during his first term in office and for his conduct during the January 6th insurrection
  • We cannot have a President who considers the leaders of our strongest adversaries in China, Russia, and North Korea as his friends
  • We cannot have a President who will dismantle NATO and abandon so many of our international allies that leaders like President Ronald Reagan used to establish world peace during the Cold War and to protect us from Vladimir Putin and an increasingly aggressive Russian Federation.

Republicans Uniting Against Trump

All of these points - and more - demand that we continue to oppose Donald Trump. More than that, we can't expect the Republican National Committee to give us an objective platform to support candidates that oppose the MAGA movement and have a meaningful discussion about the best policies for America. Does anyone remember the pressure the RNC placed on Nikki Haley so they could provide additional support to Trump as the presumptive nominee before Haley suspended her campaign?

Now that the RNC is controlled by Michael Whatley and by Lara Trump - Donald's own daughter-in-law - we really need to accept that the RNC is completely infiltrated by MAGA extremists.

There's no better time to stand together as individual Republicans against Donald Trump. Our goal in 2024 should be to vote against Donald Trump, to ensure that American is protected from having him enter the White House. After 2024, we should continue to be a vocal caucus representing elected leaders who oppose the extremism of Donald Trump, yet protect conservative values.

There are admittedly differences between voting for Nikki Haley, or for Joe Biden, or for Kamala Harris. However, they all agree that American would be a much better, more civil, more accountable form of government without Donald Trump.
